WHO
This event is built for advanced ebike riders who are fit, love tech, and ready to be tested. You should be comfortable on black diamond trails (both climbing and descending) and capable of sustained efforts at altitude for up to six hours. If you've been looking for a race that demands the full range of what you and your bike can do, this is it.
Come ready to push your limits on trails that were hand-selected to show you exactly what an ebike is capable of in true backcountry terrain.
WHERE
American Fork Canyon holds some of the best-kept secrets in the Wasatch. The trails here are relentlessly engaging in both directions; technical climbs that demand commitment and descents that will have you grinning through your full face. The canyons, aspen groves, and ridgelines make for jaw-dropping scenery in every direction. And with the race falling on September 26, expect fall colors near their peak.
The specific trails are under wraps until September 25. What we can tell you is to prepare for black diamond climbs and double-black descents throughout.
The Forest Service has graciously permitted use of these trails, but parking and venue space in the canyon are limited. Event HQ will be just outside American Fork Canyon; that's where you park, check in, and board your shuttle.
WHAT
This is an enduro format race. The course includes four timed stages (three downhill and one mixed) and your cumulative time is your final result. Each stage runs as a time trial with 30+ second gaps between riders, so you're racing the clock, not the wheel in front of you.
Everything outside the stages is untimed. Ride the liaisons at your own pace, but each stage has a cutoff time. Don't dawdle.
WHEN
Race day is September 26. The first two of four shuttles depart at 8:00 am sharp. Plan to arrive at Event HQ no later than 7:00 am to check in, collect your number plate, and grab your swag pack.
HOW
REQUIREMENTS & IMPORTANT NOTES
This is a serious backcountry mountain bike race for advanced riders. Read the following carefully before registering.
Required gear: Full face helmet, knee pads, and gloves are mandatory. No exceptions. These items must meet industry safety standards.
Food & water: There is one aid station on course. You must start with enough food and water for up to six hours of riding at high altitude in fall heat.
Battery management: There is no opportunity to charge your bike or swap a battery on course. How you meter your power output will have a direct impact on your finishing time, and whether you finish at all. Plan accordingly.
Fitness & skill level: Sustained climbs and technical descents at altitude demand a high level of both physical conditioning and riding ability. If black diamond terrain isn't your comfort zone, this event isn't the right fit yet.
An ebike isn't just a bike that's easier to ride, it's a key to terrain and adventures that would otherwise be out of reach. This race is our way of showing you what's possible when the machine is dialed and the rider is ready. Come find out what you're actually capable of.
